The work of Hanut Singh does not define itself by bold fashion statements as we have seen in previous Indian designers showcased here. Singh’s pieces perform differently as they seduce by slowly revealing fine and sensuous details of incredible beauty.
Singh has no formal training in jewellery, though being the descendant of a royal Indian heritage (he is the grandson of the late Maharaj Kumar Karamjit Singh of Kapurthala) allowed him to be influenced by the commissions his family made to Cartier and Van Cleef and Arpels.
Hand made and crafted with expertise in Delhi where he is based, his pieces of “jewellery for people who already have jewellery”, are luxuriously composed mostly with 18 Carat gold and an eclectic mix of precious and semi precious stones. In his own words an “intoxicatingly potent feast for the senses”. We could not agree more.
