Evert Nijland

A rigid yet extremely fragile material such as porcelain combines here with a soft and easily bendable linen. Metals of high hardness such as silver and steel mix with vulnerable and breakable glass. We particularly enjoyed today the beautiful and interesting pieces of Dutch jewellery designer Evert Nijland. Not only due to their seductive and pleasant appearance but as well because it appealed to us his way of exposing the meanings and personalities of the materials used by subtly contrasting elements of opposing qualities. Shown below, some examples from the 2009 Naturae collection.

From the collection NATURAE (2009) – Rococo Necklace – Porcelain and Handwoven Linen.
