John Hardy is a luxury jewellery brand based in the Indonesian island of Bali whose creative direction was undertaken in 1999 by Guy Bedarida, designer who has had previous collaborations with Haute Joaillerie houses such as Van Cleef & Arpels and Boucheron. Not surprisingly, John Hardy’s collections became a ravishing mix of nature inspired traditional design craftsmanship and French fine jewellery aesthetic heritage. Adding to the very interesting brand story, local artisans work every detail by hand in a vast isolated complex of workshops surrounded only by Bali’s dense local tropical vegetation.
