Manish Arora for Amrapali – The Spring/Summer 2013 collection

First shown last September as part of the Paris Fashion Week calendar, Manish Arora’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection was a stunning display of opulent jewellery design. Inspired by Indian goldsmithing traditions in bridal jewellery, Arora introduced many classical themes and compositions such as adornments for hair and hand  – known as maag tikkas and haath phools – bell shaped earrings – jhumkas – and a wide variety of bangles – kadas – bracelets, necklaces and rings, not forgetting references to the noble Bengal tiger and the gazelle, animal imagery so highly treasured in Indian culture.

Produced by the renowned Jaipur based fine jewellery house Amrapali, the collection – soon to arrive in selected stores – is a vibrant spectacle of golden glitter and beautiful enameled colours. Another contemporary reminder of the impressive legacy of indian classical aesthetics and jewellery craftsmanship. Shown below.
