Acknowledging that it demands quite a considerable amount of self-awareness not to get caught in all the frenzy that takes over London during its Fashion Week and wanting to bring its jewellery proposals into focus, here are some of our highlights from the catwalk shows for A/W 13-14.
L’Wren Scott surprised us with her 23k gold paint used to tattoo not only parts of the collection but as well the models necks and wrists. As this was one of the most interesting jewellery related concepts to be found, it was not without a smile that we came across Louise Gray’s fun-to-see and oversized/recycled earrings and accessories.
Christopher Kane’s huge metal neckpieces on the other hand, seemed to be looking far into the future pretty much in line with Jean Pierre Braganza’s sexy Sci-Fi statements. Holly Fulton explored further designs made out of acrylic glass while the House of Holland and Ryan Lo for Fashion East brought us some very bright and cute jewellery pieces.
An ecletic mix of proposals in terms of style and choice of materials, no doubt reflecting London’s vibrant and highly diverse fashion and arts scene. Shown below.

While Vivienne Westwood’s jewelry designs really have that “wow” factor, Louise Gray’s metal whisk earrings are a true metal purist’s dream item – recycled or not! Very cool post!
Thank you for your comment artdoesmatter! As already expected, the London Fashion Week brought us some very interesting proposals!
